Disney's Bay Lake Tower
Location! Location! Location! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is my favorite place to stay at Walt Disney World because you simply can’t get any closer to the magic.
This modern and elegant Resort is mere steps away from Magic Kingdom. Just follow the short walking path for the quickest way to the park. Don't feel like walking? The Sky Way Bridge connects Bay Lake Tower with Disney’s Contemporary Resort where there is easy access to the monorail (in fact, it runs right through the lobby)! This convenient location makes taking a park break easy, too. You can be back to your resort and in your pool in minutes!
Speaking of the pool...while the pool area at Bay Lake Tower is small compared to other onsite Disney World Resorts, it has everything you need for relaxation. The water slide, kiddie splash pad, and daily pool parties keep families entertained. A cozy hot tub overlooks Bay Lake and is the perfect spot for watching the nightly Electric Water Pageant. At the poolside Cove Bar, you can enjoy a beverage or quick-service meal. And when you stay at Bay Lake Tower, you also have access to the pool and other amenities at the Contemporary Resort. It’s a double dose of fun!
Dining at Bay Lake Tower is somewhat limited; however, just across the bridge at the Contemporary Resort, there are plenty of dining options for the whole family. Chef Mickey’s Fun Time Buffet is one of the most popular character meals on property (I can't think of a better way to start the day than with some Mickey Mouse waffles!). And if you're looking for the ultimate dining experience, the Contemporary's California Grill is a signature restaurant with breathtaking views of Magic Kingdom (if you time it right, you can even dine while watching the nightly fireworks show). For a more casual meal, visit The Wave of American Flavors for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Or pop into one of my favorite quick-service locations, Contempo Cafe, serving up delicious food and snacks throughout the day.
The rooms at Bay Lake Tower boast modern design and furnishings. There are Deluxe Studios,
One-Bedroom, Two-Bedroom, and Three-Bedroom Grand Villas available. I find the studios to be cozy but comfortable...and the larger villas are extremely spacious. Choose from a Standard view, Bay Lake view, or an incredibly-magical Theme Park view room so you can watch the fireworks right from the comfort of your own private balcony!
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is my family’s favorite place to stay on Disney property. With the amazing location and abundance of amenities, this Resort is our top pick. If you’re looking for the ultimate Disney experience, I highly recommend splurging with a stay here.
